At Le Bal’s invitation, the 5th International Photobook Festival Kassel will be held in Paris in the documenta year 2012, where the photographic book will be the focus from 20-22 April. Apart from a distinguished program of lectures and a curated market place, the festival will also present the 2012 Dummy and Photobook Awards. A renowned jury will select the winners of the Dummy Award locally. The award presentation with subsequent party will take place on Saturday, 21 April.
Photographers are invited to present their so far unpublished photobooks to a professional international jury. The best 50 books will be exhibited during the 5th International Photobook Festival in Paris. Winners will be chosen from these 50 titles and will receive attractive prizes. The first prize is a complete book production by the publishers seltmann + söhne.
Online registrations will open in November 2011 at www.fotobookfestival.org and close 31 March 2012. The registration fee is 32 Euros. Photobooks can be entered until 5 April 2012 (postmark).
The festival 2012 also presents the best photobooks of the previous year, selected by a jury comprising renowned photography experts from around the world. Each expert chooses his or her own favourite book. The awarded books will be exhibited during the festival. There will also be a catalogue that presents all books.
