Belfast Photo Festival 2013

Belfast’s 2nd Photo Festival aims to be picture perfect

This event, which has been two years in the planning, aims to attract thousands of visitors to exhibitions and events being held in 30 different galleries, museums and public spaces across the city centre.

An exciting programme of exhibitions under the thematic ‘Spectacle’ will present a variety of styles and approaches to the medium with internationally renowned photographers such as Roger Ballen, Mirko Martins and Cedric Delcaux to name but a few.

Alongside will be 10 days of workshops, film screenings, portfolio reviews, tours and live events, which offer participation and enjoyment of the photographic medium and Northern Ireland’s rich photographic heritage. (mehr …)

Spectacle | Call for Entries

ACMV is now accepting photographic submissions based under the broad theme „Spectacle“.

Selected submissions will be presented in a one-time public projection at the Belfast Crescent Arts Centre during the opening weekend of the International Belfast Photo Festival 2013 in Northern Ireland, taking place this June. (mehr …)

Olympus OM-D: Photography Playground Berlin

From 26 April until 24 May 2013 the Opernwerkstaetten Berlin transform into the “Olympus OM-D: Photography Playground“. More than 12 aspiring international artists present their installations on the subject of “Space and Art” on an area of 7,000 m², turning the historic building into a creative hotspot for both artists and visitors for four weeks. The Opernwerkstaetten Berlin are at Zinnowitzer Str. 9, the exhibition opens daily between 11 am and 7 pm. (mehr …)

ACMV will be going to Belfast for the opening of the Belfast Photo Festival 2013 on June 6th. Hurray! Further details soon. In the meantime we’ll keep you posted about the programme & festival events…

Neither is an exploration into the hearts of young women in Kaliningrad. The first generation to have grown up after the collapse of the Soviet Union, they look to define their identity in this small ‚island‘ within Europe.
