    You can download a timeline for all that Photobook Melbourne has on offer.
    And if you havn’t had a chance to grab our printed program yet, here is our pixel version.

    The ten-day Festival will have more than 200 photobooks on display.
    In addition to the Paris Photo-Aperture Awards finalists, books from Photobook Ireland’s Library Project, the Photobook Club UK and the Indie Photobook Library will be on display. A Book Fair is also scheduled with representation from local and international photobook publishers.

    The winner of the Australian Photobook of the year award will be announced at the Photobook Melbourne opening on 12 February 2015!

    The festival programme also includes talks, workshops, studio visits and exhibitions. (mehr …)

    Daido Moriyama is one of the most important living photographers and photobook makers of current times. His career began during the sixties in Tokyo, where he became a member of the influential Provoke group that created the most important style of Japanese post-war avantgarde photography.

    Worldwide, prisons are ‘home’ to more than 9 million people, and their numbers will only increase over the coming decades.  But what do our various societies seek to accomplish by locking up such massive numbers of offenders? CRUEL AND UNUSUAL is a collection of revealing and quite unexpected photography illustrating life behind bars. The exhibition looks at the ways the prison system is presented in images and how these images are created, distributed and consumed. (mehr …)
