This event, which has been two years in the planning, aims to attract thousands of visitors to exhibitions and events being held in 30 different galleries, museums and public spaces across the city centre.
An exciting programme of exhibitions under the thematic ‘Spectacle’ will present a variety of styles and approaches to the medium with internationally renowned photographers such as Roger Ballen, Mirko Martins and Cedric Delcaux to name but a few.
Alongside will be 10 days of workshops, film screenings, portfolio reviews, tours and live events, which offer participation and enjoyment of the photographic medium and Northern Ireland’s rich photographic heritage. (mehr …)

pho[to-Be]rlin is a new photographic project based on the city of Berlin.
The project consists both of a series of in-depth workshops on a number of issues related to the city and of open lectures held by award-winning international photo-reporters, the output will contribute to an on-going contemporary documentation of Berlin and its stories. (mehr …)

Widephoto offers a program of learning, exchange and debate around innovative proposals in the field of contemporary photography. For that reason, we invite well versed curators and theoreticians to give specially developed presentations, design practice-oriented workshops by photographers who have stood out due to their innovative work process’ and organize informal gatherings around a dinning table to share that knowledge in a relaxed and closer way.
Widephoto is a new initiative by Meeatings23 and Jon Uriarte that bets on new key players, on the evolution of contents and on the experimentation in the various forms by which they are produced, shared and spread. (mehr …)
PICTURE BERLIN, founded in 2009, is a nonprofit artist initiated hybrid residency/art academy which encourages participating artists to engage in an active discourse surrounding art and contemporary photography while simultaneously giving them a chance to develop their work. This perspective is unusual within a European residency context as the program facilitates each individual approach by offering close mentoring from internationally practicing artists and free-lance curators based in Berlin. From October 19 – November 25 2012, the European Month of Photography Berlin (Europäischer Monat der Fotografie Berlin / MdF Berlin), the most important German photography festival, will take place for the fifth time.
Once every two years, more than 100 institutions in Berlin – including museums, cultural institutions, private collections, galleries, embassies, state offices, photography schools and project spaces – present exhibitions and events focussing on historical and contemporary photography.
Within the framework of the 5th European Month of Photography Berlin, over 200 events will be presented in addition to the 110 exhibitions.
The spectrum of events ranges from private viewings, tours and talks, to workshops, seminars and readings, to competitions and film screenings.
On Thursday, 18 October at 7:30 pm the festival opening takes place in the Akademie der Künste. Starting at 8:00 pm, it is possible to see the exhibition Cairo. Open City – New Testimonies from an Ongoing Revolution in the Festival Centre on Pariser Platz.

Self Publish, Be Happy is an organisation founded by Bruno Ceschel in 2010 with the aim of celebrating, studying and promoting self-published photo books through events (such as exhibitions, displays and talks), publications and online exposure.
