From 26 April until 24 May 2013 the Opernwerkstaetten Berlin transform into the “Olympus OM-D: Photography Playground“. More than 12 aspiring international artists present their installations on the subject of “Space and Art” on an area of 7,000 m², turning the historic building into a creative hotspot for both artists and visitors for four weeks. Berlin: No other city stirs so many longings and desires. And yet – everyone loves something different about this town, in which one is currently beginning to re-build an ancient palace. Berlin 2013 is a city full of contradictions: Booming start-ups and airport disasters, property boom and nostalgia for the Berlin Wall, Berghain and Waldorf Astoria. Artists have always had a particular visual sense for cracks and rifts, both of which are so apparent in Berlin. PiK is a limited edition magazine dedicated to promoting photographers worldwide.
Created in 2012, PiK constitutes a platform where the work of recognised Photographers and those of emerging talents converge. Each issue is part of a limited edition, 100 copies, so as to maintain a certain value within the object. To concentrate all the attention of the readers on the photographers, the magazine is independant and advert free. The magazine is available to purchase through the website as well as in a selection of galleries and bookstores. Each photographer will also have the possibility to exhibit images from their series, printed and framed.
